PLUMP AND REJUVENATE THE FACE AND LIPS
Over time, our skin loses its natural supplies of hyaluronic acid – a substance that assists in transferring nutrients from the blood stream to the skin cells. As a result, wrinkles and folds start to form and certain parts of the face (e.g. cheeks and lips) can begin to lose volume and appear sunken.
Dermal fillers replace some of this lost hyaluronic acid, helping to rejuvenate the face and soften deeper lines and wrinkles (most commonly nose-to-mouth lines and smile lines) and can also be used on the lips and cheeks, to add volume and definition. Dermal fillers are an extremely effective treatment and, depending on the patient and the area treated, can last for up to 18 months.
If you’re concerned about loss of volume and definition and deep lines and wrinkles, contact Beauty by Carole and take the first step towards your personalised treatment plan to rejuvenate your skin.
Your free, no-obligation consultation provides the opportunity to share your goals and concerns with Carole and to ask any questions you may have. Carole will go through a brief medical history with you, explain the procedure in detail and create your individual treatment plan.
Carole will make a series of small injections into selected treatment areas on your face using a very fine needle. The procedure is relatively pain-free, save for the mild scratch experienced due to the small injections and a topical numbing cream can be used to minimise any discomfort. The treatment itself typically lasts around 20-30 minutes.
Following the treatment, Carole will discuss an aftercare plan with you. You should not apply excessive pressure to the treated areas or undertake strenuous exercise for 24-48 hours. A follow-up appointment or telephone call (if preferred) will be arranged to assess the results of your treatment and answer any follow-up questions.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
about lip and dermal fillers
Dermal filler injections are most commonly used to treat deep wrinkles on the face and to restore volume in the lips, cheeks and nose-to-mouth lines. They can also be used for a variety of other purposes, including more general facial contouring and correcting irregularities in the shape of the nose.
There is no significant downtime from dermal filler injections and any soreness or redness should subside quickly. You should avoid applying pressure to the treated areas, strenuous exercise, alcohol and exposure to extreme heat for a couple of days following the treatment, to help maximise the effect of the procedure and minimize any bruising. It is also advisable to avoid wearing make-up for 12-24 hours post-treatment.
Results can usually be seen within a day or two. The overall result achieved will depend on your individual requirements. Similarly, the duration of the results will vary between individuals, but, depending on the area treated, can typically last between 6 and 18 months.
Dermal fillers have been widely and safely used in aesthetics for many years and complications are uncommon. A full discussion of the potential risks is, however, carried out at consultation before any treatment is undertaken. Although the treatment is not entirely pain-free, any discomfort is usually minimal and a topical numbing cream can help minimize and discomfort.
