Why you should NOT have anti-wrinkle or filler treatments from a beauty therapist

As the aesthetic market has grown, so has the number of people offering aesthetic treatments such as Botox® and dermal fillers. These treatments are increasingly being offered by non-medical professionals (e.g. beauty therapists) and often at seemingly attractive prices.
So what’s the issue? Surely these practitioners have had adequate training and, as a customer, you should be encouraged to find the best price that you can? Whilst this might be a sensible approach to take with other cosmetic treatments – for instance, getting your nails done – it is not a sensible way to decide on who will perform a medical treatment on your face and deal with any potentially serious (albeit rare) complications.
Please see our infographic – derived from the work of aesthetic practitioner Dr. Mervyn Patterson – to explain the dangers with receiving fillers and anti-wrinkle injections from non-medically qualified practitioners.
